See An Art Show
Once a month the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (Av. LIbertador 1473) opens their doors on a Thursday night for special art party. Don’t miss your chance to see special installations and live music. You can kick your weekend off in Palermo or San Telmo at two separate art openings (or have an epic cross town art themed Friday). On the northern side of town, is the collaborative show Consideraciones sobre el paisaje I at SODA (Bonpland 1463), a collection of work related to space and landscape by 8 different artists. On the southern end of the city, check out Federico Villarino’s Las fuerzas extrañas at El Mirador Espacio (Brasil 301). Villarino’s work is characterized by a mixture of geometry, nature, technology, color and texture. Saturday afternoon hop over to La Boca or Boedo for two afternoon art shows. Prisma KH (Wenceslao Villafañe 485) from 3 to 7pm will be showcasing works by artists Sofía Bohtlingk and Nani Lamarque will be sharing the space with music by DJ Ex Mujer. We are huge fans of Bohtlingk’s large format oil paintings for their colorful and chaotic abstractions of the organic and the geometric. Over in Boedo, Odd CG will be hosting a Typography Festival (Castro 919) for all the graphic design nerds out there beginning at 5:30.
